Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and transcribe them into written documents using industry-standard software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and factual accuracy.
- Adhere to specific style guides and formatting requirements for each project.
- Meet strict daily and weekly production deadlines.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding sensitive patient and client information.
- Research and verify medical or technical terminology to ensure accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with team leads regarding project requirements or issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute (WPM) with high accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and transcription software.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar and sentence structure.
- Experience with medical or legal transcription is a plus but not mandatory.
- Access to a high-speed internet connection and a distraction-free home office setup.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
