As a Medical Transcriptionist, you will be responsible for transcribing medical reports and clinical documentation from audio recordings into text format. You will play a crucial role in maintaining patient health records and ensuring continuity of care.
Responsibilities
- Transcribe medical reports and clinical documentation from dictated audio files into text format.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, and medical accuracy.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to input and manage patient data.
- Communicate with healthcare providers for clarification on ambiguous medical terms or dictation errors.
- Meet daily and weekly production quotas and quality assurance standards.
- Stay updated on medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmaceutical terminology.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional medical transcription experience.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of at least 60 WPM with high accuracy (98%+).
- Experience with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection if working remotely.
