- Listen to voice recordings and transcribe them into accurate medical reports, ensuring all details are captured.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors before final submission.
- Ensure all transcriptions comply with HIPAA regulations and hospital coding standards.
- Utilize specific medical transcription software and equipment to manage workflow efficiently.
- Communicate with physicians and healthcare professionals to clarify ambiguous medical information or reports.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient records and sensitive medical data.
- Meet daily and weekly production quotas while maintaining high accuracy rates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical transcription program is preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Exceptional typing speed (minimum 60 WPM) with high accuracy.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software (e.g., Epic, Meditech).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet strict deadlines.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
