Responsibilities
- Calendar Management: Oversee and manage complex appointment schedules for multiple providers, ensuring optimal room and staff utilization.
- Patient Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for patient inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, resolving scheduling conflicts professionally.
- Data Entry: Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and patient databases, ensuring all information is up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
- Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to scheduled appointments to prevent billing issues.
- Workflow Coordination: Collaborate with clinical staff to reschedule no-shows and manage urgent appointments efficiently.
- Administrative Support: Assist in generating daily reports and managing front-desk administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical scheduling, reception, or a related administrative role.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certification in Medical Administration preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Organization: Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and pay close attention to detail.
