Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Design error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to improve qubit coherence times
- Lead research initiatives in quantum cryptography and secure communications
- Publish findings in Nature Physics/Science and present at IEEE conferences
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum computational theory
- Secure NSF/DoD grants for advanced quantum research projects
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Published research in quantum information science (2+ papers)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum processors
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Ability to secure federal research funding (preferred)
