Responsibilities
- Listen to dictated medical records from healthcare professionals and transcribe them into accurate text documents.
- Format and proofread transcribed documents to ensure compliance with medical terminology and style guides.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to input and manage patient data efficiently.
- Review and edit work of junior transcriptionists to ensure quality assurance.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation or specific medical terms.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as a Medical Transcriptionist is preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription with knowledge of various medical specialties.
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Typing speed of at least 60 WPM with high accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with EHR systems (e.g., EMDR, Epic, Cerner).
- Self-disciplined, able to work independently in a remote environment without direct supervision.
