Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical dictation and transcribe them into accurate text documents using specialized software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure they are free of errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation while maintaining the original meaning.
- Adhere to specific style guides, formatting requirements, and client-specific instructions for every assignment.
- Manage daily production quotas efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and turnaround time.
- Utilize transcription foot pedals and hardware to navigate audio files seamlessly.
- Communicate with team leads or QA specialists regarding complex dictation or formatting issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Medical Transcription or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
- Minimum typing speed of 60 WPM with a high accuracy rate (99% or higher).
- Strong command of the English language, including advanced grammar and vocabulary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with transcription-specific software (e.g., Express Scribe, Dragon).
- Access to high-speed internet and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
