Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of patient visits and accurately transcribe the content into structured medical reports.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure high standards of grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Adhere strictly to HIPAA guidelines and company confidentiality policies regarding patient data.
- Utilize medical transcription software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to manage workflow.
- Communicate with healthcare providers for clarification on ambiguous medical terms or dictation errors.
- Meet daily and weekly production targets while maintaining a 99% accuracy rate.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in medical transcription.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of 65+ WPM with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Dragon NaturallySpeaking or similar speech recognition software.
- High-speed, reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
- Certification as a Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) or RHIT is a plus.
