Responsibilities
- Convert Audio to Text: Listen to voice recordings of healthcare providers and transcribe them into accurate, formatted medical documents.
- Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure they meet strict medical terminology and grammar standards.
- Confidentiality: Strictly adhere to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality protocols at all times.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize industry-standard transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, MS Word) efficiently.
- Communication: Collaborate with medical staff for clarification on complex medical terms or dictation errors.
- Deadline Management: Meet daily and weekly productivity targets and submission deadlines.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical transcription or equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Proficient typing speed of 65+ WPM with high accuracy.
- Medical Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Hardware: A dedicated home office setup with a high-speed internet connection and a computer capable of running transcription software.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to detect subtle errors and maintain consistency in formatting.
