As a Remote Transcriptionist, you will play a critical role in the healthcare continuum by ensuring accurate documentation of patient care. We are looking for candidates who are proficient in medical terminology and dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of data integrity.
Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of physician dictation and transcribe them into accurate medical reports, including history and physicals, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, syntax, and medical accuracy before submission.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and all company privacy policies regarding patient data.
- Format documents according to specific client templates and departmental guidelines.
- Communicate with healthcare providers via secure channels to clarify ambiguous or unclear dictation.
- Manage daily transcription quotas and meet deadlines consistently.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, and anatomy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription, Health Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription or a related healthcare role.
- Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of 65+ words per minute with high accuracy (98%+).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, quiet home office space.
- Strong command of the English language and excellent grammar skills.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is a plus.
