Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of physician reports and convert them into accurate written medical documents.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Transcribe a variety of medical records including patient history, physical exams, consultations, and operative reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity deadlines to ensure timely record delivery.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and speech recognition tools effectively.
- Resolve discrepancies in medical coding and terminology with clinical staff when necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience (acute care preferred).
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of at least 65 WPM with high accuracy.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Associate degree or certificate in Medical Transcription is required.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
- Must be a U.S. resident with legal authorization to work.
