Responsibilities
- Listen to dictated recordings from healthcare professionals and transcribe them into text documents.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and medical accuracy.
- Ensure all medical reports are completed and submitted within the established deadlines.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards.
- Utilize specialized transcription software and hardware efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with team leads regarding difficult audio files or unclear dictation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as a Medical Transcriptionist is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription or related administrative role.
- Excellent command of the English language, including advanced grammar and spelling.
- Fast and accurate typing skills (minimum 50-60 WPM).
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office space.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
