Responsibilities
- Listen to and transcribe dictated medical reports from audio recordings using speech recognition technology and professional transcription software.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, and medical accuracy.
- Adhere to strict privacy policies and HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity and quality assurance standards.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation or queries.
- Manage and organize digital files and archives securely.
- Participate in ongoing training regarding new medical procedures and software updates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Strong command of the English language and grammar.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office workspace.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
