Responsibilities
- Listen to and transcribe dictated medical reports from audio recordings into clear, accurate text format.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, syntax, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Adhere strictly to HIPAA compliance standards and client-specific formatting guidelines.
- Manage high-volume workloads while maintaining a 99%+ accuracy rate.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to resolve ambiguous dictation or clarify medical terms.
- Utilize speech recognition software and digital dictation tools effectively.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription or Healthcare Administration is a plus.
- Minimum typing speed of 60 WPM (Words Per Minute).
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and speech recognition software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
