Responsibilities
- Transcribe Medical Records: Listen to voice recordings of healthcare professionals and accurately transcribe them into text format.
- Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and most importantly, medical terminology accuracy.
- Compliance: Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality standards at all times.
- Deadline Management: Meet daily production quotas and turnaround time (TAT) requirements efficiently.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize medical transcription software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems effectively.
- Communication: Contact physicians or nurses to clarify unclear dictations when necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience.
- Skills: Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing Speed: Typing speed of at least 60-70 WPM with high accuracy.
- Technical Requirements: High-speed internet connection, dedicated computer, and a quiet home office environment.
- Software: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is a plus.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification (CMT, RHIT) is preferred.
