Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of healthcare providers and transcribe them into text format using specialized software.
- Ensure the accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and syntax of all transcribed documents.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to correct any errors or discrepancies before submission.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity and quality assurance benchmarks.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff regarding unclear dictation or queries.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; certification in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription or a related healthcare administrative role.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with high accuracy.
- Must have a dedicated home office environment with high-speed internet and a quiet workspace.
- US citizenship or legal right to work in the United States is required.
