Responsibilities
- Convert Audio to Text: Listen to audio recordings of medical consultations and transcribe them into clear, accurate, and grammatically correct text documents using industry-standard software.
- Proofreading & Editing: Review transcribed documents for errors, missing information, and formatting inconsistencies to ensure 99.9% accuracy.
- Medical Terminology: Demonstrate a strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology to accurately capture complex clinical details.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to company quality guidelines and standards for all transcribed work before submission.
- Deadline Management: Efficiently manage multiple files and meet strict daily and weekly production targets without compromising quality.
- Confidentiality: Strictly adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding the privacy and security of patient data.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize specific dictation and transcription platforms (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, EHR systems) effectively.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or certification in Medical Transcription is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription or related administrative roles.
- Typing Skills: Proficient typing speed of at least 45-60 WPM with high accuracy.
- Technical Skills: Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a computer capable of running transcription software.
- Language: Excellent command of the English language, including grammar and punctuation.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to catch subtle nuances in medical dictation.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment.
