Responsibilities
- Convert audio files from various medical specialties into accurate text documents using industry-standard transcription software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, and medical accuracy before final submission.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times.
- Research medical terms, abbreviations, and acronyms to ensure correct terminology usage.
- Communicate with healthcare providers for clarification on unclear dictation when necessary.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity and quality assurance benchmarks.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Previous experience in medical transcription, preferably in a remote setting.
- Must possess a strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of at least 60 WPM with high accuracy (90%+).
- Proficiency in speech recognition software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking) is a plus.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
