Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of physician visits and transcribe them into written medical reports with high accuracy.
- Format and proofread transcripts to ensure adherence to medical style guides (e.g., AAMT).
- Verify medical terminology, drug names, and abbreviations using reference materials.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards.
- Communicate with supervisors or physicians for clarification on ambiguous audio files.
- Meet daily and weekly production quotas and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Medical Transcription or Healthcare preferred.
- Previous experience in medical transcription or a related healthcare field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized transcription software.
- Exceptional typing speed (minimum 60 wpm) and accuracy rate.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
