Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical consultations and accurately transcribe them into written text.
- Format and proofread transcriptions to ensure medical terminology, grammar, and syntax are correct.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA privacy regulations and company confidentiality policies.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguous dictation or resolve transcription errors.
- Meet daily and weekly production quotas while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Stay updated on evolving medical terminology and transcription software updates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; completion of a medical transcription program is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription or a related administrative role (1+ years preferred).
- Exceptional typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60-70 wpm).
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, MTW).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
