Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of physician dictations and transcribe them into accurate, formatted medical reports.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, and adherence to medical style guides (e.g., AAMT/HCPCS).
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards at all times.
- Ensure timely delivery of reports to meet hospital and clinic deadlines.
- Use Electronic Health Records (EHR) software and transcription tools efficiently to maximize productivity.
- Communicate with healthcare providers for clarification on unclear dictations when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Medical Transcription or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription, with specific experience in Orthopedics, Cardiology, or General Medicine being a plus.
- Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Exceptional typing speed and accuracy (minimum 65 WPM).
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and specific transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
