Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of physician dictation and transcribe them into clear, accurate text documents.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, syntax, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Adhere to strict medical formatting guidelines and style guides provided by the facility.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff to clarify complex medical terms or unclear audio files.
- Manage daily transcription quotas and meet strict deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to input and manage transcription data securely.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription or professional typing (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Strong command of the English language, including advanced grammar and spelling skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in using speech recognition software and Electronic Health Records (EHR) platforms.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently in a remote setting.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
