Responsibilities
- Listen to and transcribe dictated medical reports and patient history notes with high accuracy and speed.
- Format documents according to specific medical style guides and client requirements.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology errors to ensure 99% accuracy.
- Ensure strict adherence to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with medical providers regarding unclear dictation or formatting queries.
- Utilize medical reference tools and transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking) to ensure accurate terminology usage.
- Manage file storage and retrieval systems securely.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required; RHDS or similar certification is a plus.
- Typing speed of 65+ words per minute (WPM) with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office space.
