In this pivotal role, you will convert audio recordings of physician dictations into clear, formatted medical reports. You will work in a fully remote environment, utilizing state-of-the-art speech recognition technology and your expertise to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical procedures, doctor-patient visits, and history and physicals to produce accurate text documents.
- Utilize speech recognition software to draft reports, followed by manual review and editing for grammar, syntax, and medical accuracy.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations and company quality assurance standards.
- Maintain a consistent daily workflow to meet production quotas and deadlines.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for clarity, completeness, and proper medical terminology usage.
- Research and resolve ambiguous medical terms or unclear dictations by contacting healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certification in Medical Transcription is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in medical transcription or a related healthcare documentation role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, Emdat).
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a remote setting.
