Responsibilities
- Listens to dictated recordings from medical professionals and transcribes them into accurate text documents.
- Proofreads and edits transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, and medical accuracy.
- Adheres to strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards at all times.
- Manages email communications with clients and proofreaders to clarify ambiguous dictation.
- Meets daily and weekly productivity and quality assurance targets.
- Utilizes Electronic Health Records (EHR) and speech recognition software efficiently.
- Updates medical records and maintains accurate documentation of patient history.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of at least 60 WPM with a high degree of accuracy (99%+).
- Proficient in using speech recognition software and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Must pass a skills assessment and background check.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong computer skills and ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
