Responsibilities
- Listen to dictated recordings from healthcare professionals and transcribe them into accurate written medical reports.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient data confidentiality.
- Use specialized transcription software and hardware (e.g., foot pedals, high-quality headsets) to ensure seamless workflow.
- Meet daily production quotas and adhere to company turnaround times.
- Communicate effectively with the quality assurance team regarding unclear dictation or complex medical cases.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a Medical Transcription certificate from an accredited institution is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription or a related field (minimum 1-2 years preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Exceptional typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60 WPM required).
- Reliable, high-speed internet connection and a quiet home office environment.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines without direct supervision.
