Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe dictated medical reports and patient history notes into electronic formats.
- Review and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and medical accuracy.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA compliance and data privacy standards at all times.
- Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) software to input and manage patient data securely.
- Proofread and format reports according to specific departmental guidelines and style guides.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare providers regarding clarification requests.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity quotas with high-quality standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or certificate in Medical Transcription preferred).
- Proven experience in medical transcription, medical coding, or a related healthcare documentation role.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of 60+ WPM with a high degree of accuracy (95%+).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office space.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, EHR platforms).
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
