Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical consultations and transcribe them into accurate, formatted text documents.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure they adhere to medical terminology, grammar, and style guidelines.
- Manage and organize digital files securely, ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguous information or resolve transcription errors.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity targets and quality assurance standards.
- Stay updated on the latest medical terminology and transcription software updates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Proven experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or similar role.
- Minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Emdat).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet strict deadlines.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
