Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and transcribe medical reports with 99.9% accuracy.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology errors.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Use specialized transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Express Scribe) efficiently.
- Research ambiguous medical terms and physician dictation styles to ensure accuracy.
- Communicate with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation or formatting requirements.
- Submit completed work within established deadlines and quality standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or certificate in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and medical terminology.
- Proven typing speed of 60 WPM or higher.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a distraction-free home office environment.
