Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical dictation and transcribe them into text documents with high accuracy and speed.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents to ensure they are error-free, grammatically correct, and adhere to client specifications.
- Format reports according to strict medical and legal standards, including proper punctuation and terminology usage.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance guidelines at all times.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation or urgent reports.
- Manage daily workflow efficiently to meet tight deadlines and productivity quotas.
- Utilize transcription software and tools to streamline the documentation process.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or certification in Medical Transcription is preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription with a focus on general medicine or specialty fields.
- Must possess a typing speed of 65 words per minute or higher.
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking).
- Must have a dedicated, quiet home office environment with high-speed internet.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
