Responsibilities
- Listen to dictated recordings and transcribe them into written medical reports with high accuracy and speed.
- Format and proofread transcribed documents to ensure adherence to specific style guides and client requirements.
- Identify and correct discrepancies in medical records or audio files.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards at all times.
- Utilize specialized transcription software and medical dictionaries effectively.
- Communicate with healthcare providers regarding clarification of medical terms or ambiguous dictation.
- Manage daily workflow and meet strict deadlines for multiple files.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience.
- Typing speed of at least 65 WPM with high accuracy (98%+).
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, FlexiScript).
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Excellent English grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
