We are looking for a dedicated individual who can accurately convert audio files into written medical reports with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to strict deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Listen to and accurately transcribe dictated medical reports into a variety of medical reports, including history and physical examinations, clinic notes, operative reports, discharge summaries, and psychotropic evaluations.
- Review and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, and syntax errors using computerized spell-check and other automated editing tools.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and company confidentiality standards to ensure patient data security.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for accuracy, consistency, and completeness before final submission.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguous dictation or resolve transcription issues.
- Manage workflow efficiently to meet daily production quotas and turnaround times.
- Utilize medical transcription software and voice recognition systems to maximize productivity.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Exceptional typing speed (minimum 60 WPM) with high accuracy.
- Strong knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with medical transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, EMS Plus) is highly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Medical Transcription or related field is a plus.
