- Listen to audio recordings of medical dictation and accurately transcribe them into text.
- Format and edit transcribed documents according to strict medical and legal standards.
- Proofread and edit work for grammar, punctuation, and medical accuracy.
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols at all times.
- Use various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and transcription software effectively.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare staff regarding unclear dictation or special instructions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or certification in Medical Transcription is preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription or a related healthcare documentation role.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of at least 60-70 WPM with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized transcription software (e.g., Dragon, EHR platforms).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office workspace.
