In this position, you will be responsible for converting audio recordings of medical reports into written text. We value precision, efficiency, and the ability to adapt to new medical technologies. Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe physician dictations into electronic health records (EHR) using industry-standard software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure 99% accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and medical terminology.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance protocols at all times.
- Research and resolve complex medical terminology discrepancies to ensure comprehensive documentation.
- Communicate with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation or urgent report requirements.
- Meet specific daily and weekly productivity and quality assurance (QA) benchmarks.
- Stay updated on the latest medical coding and documentation standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in Medical Transcription, Medical Assisting, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proven typing speed of 60+ WPM with high accuracy.
- Proficiency with speech recognition software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking) is highly desirable.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, noise-free home office workspace.
- Must pass a mandatory background check and drug screen.
