Responsibilities
- Listen to dictated medical reports and accurately transcribe them into electronic formats using industry-standard software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, syntax, and medical accuracy before submission.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and company confidentiality protocols at all times.
- Utilize medical dictionaries and reference materials to resolve ambiguous terms or unclear dictation.
- Communicate proactively with physicians and healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation.
- Meet daily and weekly production quotas while maintaining a high standard of quality and turnaround time.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on medical terminology and transcription technology.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 65-75 WPM).
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited transcription program is preferred.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, quiet home workspace.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
