Responsibilities
- Accurate Transcription: Listen to audio recordings and transcribe medical reports, including history and physicals, discharge summaries, and operative notes with 99% accuracy.
- Formatting & Editing: Format documents according to established style guides (AAMT, AMA) and proofread for grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology usage.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to strict quality control standards and HIPAA compliance protocols to ensure patient data confidentiality.
- Deadline Management: Manage high-volume workloads efficiently to meet daily turnaround time requirements.
- Communication: Collaborate with physicians and editors to clarify ambiguous dictation and resolve technical issues.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription or Health Sciences preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Skills: Proficient typing speed of 60-80 WPM with exceptional accuracy; strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Technical: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and transcription software (e.g., Dragon, etc.).
- Setup: Dedicated home office with a reliable high-speed internet connection and noise-canceling equipment.
