Responsibilities
- Listen to dictated medical recordings and transcribe them into written reports with high accuracy.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax errors.
- Format reports according to client specifications and medical coding standards.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Use medical transcription software and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in medical transcription preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Excellent English grammar and proofreading skills.
- Typing speed of 60+ WPM with high accuracy.
- Must have a high-speed internet connection and a quiet home office space.
