Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of physician dictation and transcribe them into clear, accurate text documents.
- Format reports according to client specifications and established medical terminology guidelines.
- Proofread and edit transcriptions for grammar, punctuation, and medical accuracy before submission.
- Manage incoming requests and ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and data privacy standards.
- Utilize specialized transcription software and tools to ensure an efficient workflow and meet daily quotas.
- Communicate with healthcare professionals to clarify ambiguous dictation or resolve technical issues.
- Continuously update knowledge of medical terminology and coding updates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription (2+ years preferred).
- Exceptional typing speed (minimum 60 WPM) and accuracy (99%+).
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and dedicated transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking).
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
