Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical dictation and transcribe them into written text with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and medical terminology usage.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Utilize specialized transcription software and tools to manage workflow efficiently.
- Research complex medical terms, drugs, and proper names to ensure documentation precision.
- Submit completed transcripts and reports within established deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding clarification of dictation when necessary.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certification in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription or a related healthcare documentation role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of 60+ WPM with a high accuracy rate (98%+).
- Reliable, high-speed internet connection and a distraction-free home office environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specific transcription software.
