Responsibilities
- Listen to dictated recordings from healthcare professionals and transcribe them into accurate, formatted, and grammatically correct medical reports.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for spelling, punctuation, grammar, and syntax errors.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA compliance standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Manage a high volume of dictation, ensuring all deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Utilize specialized medical transcription software and tools to streamline workflows.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding complex medical terms or unclear dictations to ensure accuracy.
- Continuously update knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional medical transcription experience is strongly required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proven ability to type 60-80+ WPM with high accuracy (95% or higher).
- Experience with EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems and transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Emdat).
- Strong computer literacy and home office setup (reliable high-speed internet, noise-canceling headset).
- Must be a self-motivated individual capable of working independently in a remote setting.
