Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and transcribe medical reports into text with a focus on high accuracy and speed.
- Format reports according to established medical guidelines, coding standards, and company style guides.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology errors to ensure 99% accuracy.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers for clarification on complex medical terms or unclear audio.
- Manage workflow efficiently to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
- Utilize transcription software and speech recognition tools to optimize productivity.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience (preferred for higher pay grade).
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Fast and accurate typing skills (minimum 60 WPM).
- Strong command of the English language, including advanced grammar and spelling.
- Experience with speech recognition software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking) is a strong plus.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, distraction-free home office environment.
- Must reside in the Oakland, CA area (or willing to commute to our office for specific training phases).
