Responsibilities
- Convert audio recordings of healthcare provider dictations into written medical reports with high accuracy.
- Listen to dictated medical records and transcribe them into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology are correct.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA compliance standards and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Review and edit audio files for clarity, speed, and consistency using specialized transcription software.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguous medical terms or dictate instructions.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity and quality assurance benchmarks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience is required.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Fast and accurate typing skills (minimum 60 WPM).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, distraction-free home office environment.
