Responsibilities
- Convert audio files from various medical specialties into clear, accurate text documents using industry-standard software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure zero errors in grammar, spelling, and medical terminology.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards at all times.
- Meet daily and weekly production quotas within the designated turnaround time.
- Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and specific transcription tools efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear audio or medical queries.
- Participate in regular quality assurance training and skill enhancement workshops.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription or related field is a plus.
- Proven typing speed of 65+ WPM with high accuracy.
- Familiarity with medical, surgical, and pharmacological terminology.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a distraction-free home workspace.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Express Scribe).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be a U.S. resident and authorized to work in the United States.
