Responsibilities
- Transcribe Audio: Listen to voice recordings of medical dictation and convert them into accurate, formatted text documents with a high degree of precision.
- Format Documents: Adhere to specific medical formatting guidelines (e.g., AAMT, CPT codes) to ensure proper documentation standards.
- Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and medical terminology accuracy before submission.
- Timely Delivery: Manage a high volume of work and meet strict daily and weekly production quotas without compromising quality.
- Technology Maintenance: Ensure home office technology, high-speed internet, and transcription software are functioning correctly.
- Compliance: Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines and company confidentiality agreements at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription, with experience in specialties such as Cardiology or Orthopedics preferred.
- Skills: Demonstrated typing speed of 60+ WPM with 99% accuracy.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription or Healthcare Administration is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software (e.g., Emdat, DQS, or Dragon).
- Home Office: Reliable high-speed internet, a dedicated workspace, and a noise-canceling headset are mandatory.
- Self-Management: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet strict deadlines.
