Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical reports and transcribe them into accurate text documents.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and medical terminology consistency.
- Adhere to specific formatting guidelines and client specifications for every document.
- Manage a high volume of dictations while maintaining strict daily production and quality standards.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Utilize transcription software and tools efficiently to ensure workflow optimization.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional medical transcription experience.
- Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute (WPM) with a high degree of accuracy.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, Dragon NaturallySpeaking) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, quiet home office environment.
