Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe physician dictations into text documents using industry-standard transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, EHR systems).
- Proofread and edit all transcribed documents to ensure proper grammar, punctuation, and adherence to medical style guides (e.g., AAMT).
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
- Manage audio files and adhere to daily and weekly production quotas to meet departmental deadlines.
- Identify and resolve ambiguous medical terminology by clarifying with physicians when necessary.
- Format reports correctly for integration into Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Stay updated on the latest medical terminology and transcription technologies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription or Health Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Exceptional English language skills with a focus on grammar, spelling, and syntax.
- Typing speed of 65+ WPM with a proven accuracy rate of 99% or higher.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
