Responsibilities
- Listen to and transcribe dictated medical reports, including history and physicals, operative reports, and clinic notes, with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents to ensure grammar, spelling, and punctuation are correct while adhering to medical style guides.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Use specialized transcription software and hardware to deliver timely reports.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding complex reports or technical issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Transcription program is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription or a related healthcare documentation role.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Exceptional typing speed (minimum 60-70 WPM) with a high degree of accuracy (98%+).
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and specialized transcription software (e.g., Dragon, etc.).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office space.
