Responsibilities
- Transcribe physician and healthcare provider dictations into accurate medical reports, including patient history, physical exams, and operative notes.
- Ensure strict adherence to medical terminology, grammar, and style guidelines set by the facility.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of all patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) software and transcription tools to manage workflow efficiently.
- Communicate with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictations or specific formatting requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certification in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience in a clinical setting.
- Expert knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of 60+ WPM with a high degree of accuracy (95%+).
- Proficient in using speech recognition software and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Must reside in the San Antonio, TX area or be willing to commute to our office.
