Responsibilities
- Listen to and transcribe dictated medical reports from various healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists.
- Convert voice recordings into written text using state-of-the-art transcription software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, and legal/medical accuracy.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and data security protocols.
- Meet daily and weekly production quotas within strict turnaround time (TAT) requirements.
- Research medical terms and abbreviations to ensure contextually appropriate documentation.
- Maintain updated knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certification in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of 60+ words per minute with high accuracy.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, quiet home office environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and specialized transcription software.
- Ability to pass a background check and adhere to company confidentiality agreements.
