What You Will Do:
As a Remote Transcriptionist, you will be the voice of the patient's medical history, ensuring that provider notes are transcribed with precision and confidentiality. You will work closely with medical professionals to ensure the highest standards of documentation.
Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of healthcare provider-patient encounters and transcribe them into accurate medical reports and documents.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, syntax, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations and patient confidentiality at all times.
- Utilize speech recognition software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking) to enhance productivity and workflow efficiency.
- Meet daily and weekly production quotas and adhere to strict turnaround time requirements.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguous dictation or obtain necessary medical details.
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding and documentation standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certification in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience required.
- Exceptional typing speed of 60+ words per minute with high accuracy (95%+).
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and transcription-specific software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or similar).
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a home office environment.
